Sustainability

At MAKRIS, sustainability isn’t a separate initiative; it’s part of how we operate and how we develop building envelope solutions. We are shaping our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) framework and embedding responsible practices across the business. The aim is clear: to reduce our environmental footprint through better ways of working, while strengthening our social responsibility through fair treatment of our people and support for the communities around us.

Makris Environment

Environment

Our environmental policy is woven into our business strategy, with a focus on sustainable growth and steady reduction of our footprint. In line with ESG principles, we adopt practices that support responsible use of natural resources, energy efficiency and a more circular approach to materials. We work to reduce CO₂ emissions, increase recycling of raw materials and invest in energy-efficient technologies, aligned with the Environmental Management System requirements of ISO 14001.

With a focus on cleaner industrial production, we aim to minimise the impact of our operations while continuing to deliver products that meet the needs of modern construction. Our goal is a model of growth where innovation and quality go hand in hand with environmental responsibility—so progress never comes at the expense of the resources future generations will depend on.

Makris Society

Society

We recognise that our presence is closely linked to the local community of Larissa and the wider region. That’s why we support initiatives that strengthen the local economy, social cohesion and community wellbeing. We work with local bodies, educational institutions and organisations, with the aim of creating positive outcomes that can be seen in practice.

At the same time, we build a working environment based on respect for rights, equal opportunity and a strong safety culture across every stage of production. We promote meritocracy, transparency and the development of our people—because investment in skills and wellbeing is a foundation for long-term sustainability and steady progress.

Makris Corporate governance

Corporate governance

Responsible governance is a cornerstone of sustainable growth at MAKRIS. We apply clear, documented processes for decision-making, risk management and internal control, ensuring transparency and alignment with applicable legal and regulatory requirements. For us, good governance is part of day-to-day work, not a box-ticking exercise.

We strengthen a culture of compliance by setting high standards for quality, integrity and professionalism across every collaboration. We follow clear rules of conduct in our relationships with customers, suppliers, partners and employees, promoting consistency, responsibility and respect. In parallel, we use traceability, supplier evaluation and systematic quality checks to ensure every product carrying the MAKRIS name meets the standards our sector expects.
