The company expands its facilities and installs a new production line for Z sections and road safety barrier components, strengthening its presence in steel construction and road infrastructure projects.
The company becomes the first in Greece to introduce Roman and Dutch tile-effect profiles made from pre-painted steel sheet. The distinctive red “tile” colour became widely known; some major steel mills even refer to its colour code as Greek Red.
MAKRIS invests in new equipment and begins producing flashings and trims, adding the finishing elements that complete and seal roof-and-wall systems.
Responding to market demand, the company establishes Greece’s first production unit for polyurethane (PUR) insulated roof panels. As low-energy buildings gain momentum, energy performance becomes a key driver in product development.
To meet the needs of modern construction, MAKRIS installs a production line for light structural steel components, including C, Z and M open sections—broadening the solutions available for building structures.
In line with the construction sector’s requirements, the company implements a certified quality assurance system, reinforcing product consistency and customer confidence.
A new production unit for stone wool insulated panels begins operation. MAKRIS moves into fire-protection solutions for buildings and secures its first fire-resistance certifications for roof and wall systems, placing clear emphasis on protection for people and property.
A new factory for polyurethane (PUR) and polyisocyanurate (PIR) High Index insulated panels opens at the Delta site in Melissochori. With automated control systems and standardised processes, the facility strengthens the company’s position in the domestic market and supports consistent quality and performance.
MAKRIS expands its architectural range with new options such as tile-effect panels and textured finishes, including pebbled embossed surfaces, offering more flexibility for architectural design.
The company places even greater focus on sustainable development, promoting energy-efficiency improvements across its facilities and encouraging the use of more sustainable solutions in projects delivered with MAKRIS systems, aiming to reduce its environmental footprint and support more responsible construction.
