Available Options
Connection / fixing options
They are fixed to the primary structure using the standard method of visible fixing (through-fixing).
Fixing is recommended at the locations of the primary load-bearing members.
Along their length, they interlock effectively without the need for additional accessories, thanks to the purpose-designed joint.
Welded connections are not recommended.
Transverse overlap is not recommended.
In composite construction, the use of studs is recommended, as the micro-embossments on the smooth surface of the steel deck increase bond but are not sufficient.
Certified studs are recommended, and do not require heavy and expensive site equipment.
For MetaLite Amalga 98/280, a stud height H = 125 mm is recommended.
A light reinforcement is usually also installed for crack control and to carry negative moments over supports when the static system is a continuous multi-span beam.
For structural applications, the reduction in strength due to notches must be calculated in accordance with EN 1993-1-3.
