Purpose and Scope<\/h2>\r\n<p>1.1. This Policy explains the manner in which MAKRIS collects, uses, stores, protects, and processes personal data of visitors\/users of the Website.<\/p>\r\n<p>1.2. The Company complies with the <strong>General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016\/679 (&#8220;GDPR&#8221;)<\/strong>, Greek <strong>Law 4624\/2019<\/strong>, decisions and guidance of the Hellenic Data Protection Authority, and any other applicable data protection provisions.<\/p>\r\n<p>1.3. This Policy applies to personal data collected through the Website and does not replace any specific arrangements that may apply under contractual relationships or commercial transactions.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<h2>2. Data Controller \u2013 Contact<\/h2>\r\n<p>2.1. Data Controller: <strong>MAKRIS S.A.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p>2.2. The Company may engage service providers (e.g., hosting providers) acting as Processors on the basis of appropriate contractual arrangements, including data processing agreements (&#8220;DPAs&#8221;).<\/p>\r\n\r\n<h2>3. Categories of Personal Data We Collect<\/h2>\r\n<p>3.1. <strong>Data you provide<\/strong> (contact form):\r\nfull name, company, email address, telephone number, message content, and any information you choose to include in free-text fields.<\/p>\r\n<p>3.2. <strong>Newsletter data<\/strong>: email address (and any optional information, if and when implemented).<\/p>\r\n<p>3.3. <strong>Technical usage data<\/strong>: IP address, browser\/device type, date\/time of access, pages viewed, and system logs\/error logs, to the extent necessary for security and operation.<\/p>\r\n<p>3.4. MAKRIS does not seek to collect special categories of personal data (sensitive data). If such data are submitted inadvertently, the Company may delete them.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<h2>4. Purposes of Processing<\/h2>\r\n<p>MAKRIS processes personal data for the following purposes:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>responding to requests and communicating with Users;<\/li>\r\n\t<li>sending newsletters\/updates (where consent exists);<\/li>\r\n\t<li>ensuring the security and proper operation of the Website; and<\/li>\r\n\t<li>complying with legal obligations and protecting the Company\u2019s legitimate rights and interests.<\/li>\r\n\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n<h2>5. Legal Bases for Processing<\/h2>\r\n<p>Processing is carried out, as applicable, on the basis of:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li><strong>Consent<\/strong> (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR): newsletter communications;<\/li>\r\n\t<li><strong>Taking steps at the request of the data subject prior to entering into a contract \/ performance of a contract<\/strong> (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR): responding to a request submitted via the contact form;<\/li>\r\n\t<li><strong>Legitimate interests<\/strong> (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR): Website security, operation, logs, and prevention of misuse; and<\/li>\r\n\t<li><strong>Legal obligation<\/strong> (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR): where required by law.<\/li>\r\n\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n<h2>6. Such third parties are contractually bound to confidentiality and security (including via DPAs) and process personal data only on MAKRIS\u2019s documented instructions, as applicable.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<h2>8. Transfers Outside the EU\/EEA<\/h2>\r\n<p>8.1. Where a transfer outside the European Economic Area (&#8220;EEA&#8221;) is required (e.g., through international providers), such transfer will take place only subject to appropriate safeguards in accordance with the GDPR, such as an adequacy decision, Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), or other lawful mechanisms.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<h2>9. Data Retention<\/h2>\r\n<p>9.1. Personal data are retained only for as long as necessary for the purposes of processing, as follows:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>contact form data: up to <strong>24 months<\/strong> (unless longer retention is required for documentation and\/or cooperation purposes);<\/li>\r\n\t<li>newsletter data: until withdrawal of consent\/unsubscription;<\/li>\r\n\t<li>logs: typically up to <strong>12 months<\/strong>, unless longer retention is required for security purposes and\/or incident investigation; and<\/li>\r\n\t<li>where legally required: for the applicable statutory retention periods.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n<h2>10. Security of Processing<\/h2>\r\n<p>10.1. MAKRIS implements appropriate technical and organizational measures pursuant to Article 32 GDPR, including access controls, secure protocols, updates\/patching, event monitoring, and incident response procedures.<\/p>\r\n<p>10.2. In the event of a personal data breach, the Company follows the procedures required by law (including notification to the supervisory authority and\/or data subjects, where applicable).<\/p>\r\n\r\n<h2>11. MAKRIS responds within <strong>one (1) month<\/strong> with a possible extension of up to two (2) additional months for complex requests. For security purposes, MAKRIS may request information necessary to verify the requester\u2019s identity.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<h2>13. Automated Decision-Making \u2013 Profiling<\/h2>\r\n<p>13.1. MAKRIS does not make decisions producing legal effects concerning the User, or similarly significantly affecting the User, based solely on automated processing, nor does it carry out profiling, other than any statistical functionalities described in the Cookies Policy.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<h2>14. Minors<\/h2>\r\n<p>14.1. The Website is not directed to minors under the age of 16. If MAKRIS becomes aware that it has collected personal data from a minor, the Company may delete such data and\/or request confirmation from a parent\/legal guardian.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<h2>15.
